Stefan Moon’s hat-trick helped Newlands Reserves earn their first win of the season a 7-2 success at champions Filey Town Reserves, while United Sports and Sleights both kept up their 100 per cent record with wins at home to Flixton and FC Rosette respectively.

Filey Town Reserves 2 Newlands Park Reserves 7 (Moon 3, Freer 2, Lightfoot, Delve)

Central midfielder Stefan Moon’s treble fired Newlands Park Reserves to a fine 7-2 win at title-holders Filey Town Reserves.

Dan Freer also chipped in with a double while veteran Franny Lightfoot and Luke Delve also notched for the visitors.

Stand-in goalkeeper Will Rowley shared the man-of-the-match award with centre-back Gary Lumbis and Moon.

Sleights 6 (Faichney 3, McCarthy, Kipling, Taylor) FC Rosette 1 (A Wray pen)

A Jake Faichney hat-trick steered Sleights to a comfortable home win against a weakened Rosette side.

Faichney’s goalscoring exploits fired the hosts to their fourth win in as many matches, and they are now second in the table behind leaders Edgehill Reserves only on goal difference.

Man of the match Mark Kipling, Mark McCarthy and Simon Taylor also netted for the hosts before Al Wray struck a late consolation for the Newby side from the penalty spot.

United Sports Bar 2 (Rose, Rackham) Flixton 1 (Hobson)

Early goals from Georgie Rose and Craig Rakcham fired United Sports Bar to a victory against Flixton.

Rose opened the scoring with a 20-yard scorcher which flew into the top corner of the net, then Rackham added a second after some fine build-up play.

Flixton came back into the game after the break and a Matty Hobson wonder strike gave the visitors hope, but his shot was so powerful that it aggravated a nagging hamstring injury and forced him off the pitch. This reduced Flixton to 10 men as they had used their subs but they still piled forward looking for a leveller but United hung on for the win, their third in three league games.

Veteran striker Steve Bayes was named as manof the match on his return to the club, while defender zak Poole was star man for United.
