WHITBY RFC 3 (Ross, Kilpatrick, Craig) SLEIGHTS RES 1 (Leeman)

Three goals in the last eight minutes gave Whitby RFC victory against derby rivals Sleights Reserves.

Sleights led through a Aaron Leeman strike until the 82nd minute when Ste Ross levelled.

Sleights were then stunned by strikes from Mike Kilpatrick and Damon Craig as the rugby club took the points against the newly-formed side.

SCALBY RESERVES 4 (Tomlinson, Oxley, Jordan, Turley) SEAMER RESERVES 0

Jeff Brader’s Scalby Reserves bounced back from their opening day defeat with a convincing 4-0 win against Seamer Reserves.

Joe Tomlinson gave the home side the lead after a scramble in the box found its way to him and he swept in with his left foot.

Seamer could have levelled after a needless foul in the box by Karl Hansell gave the away side a penalty, but Tom Manson saved Dan Layton’s spot-kick.

Scalby then doubled their lead through Jason Oxley, who pounced on the edge of the six-yard box to tap in with his left foot.

As Seamer poured men forward to try and get back into the game, Scalby countered and Darren Arnott’s sliderule pass found 16-year-old winger Taylor Jordan, who finished into the bottom corner.

Scalby’s scoring was wrapped up when Arnott’s tame effort was parried by the Seamer stopper and Nick Turley pounced to slam in.

Jez Clifford was Scalby’s star man while Danny Birley was the standout performer for Seamer.

AYTON RESERVES 2 (Ledden, Stubbings) CAYTON RESERVES 4 (Whitelaw, Mockridge, Brown, og)

Cayton Reserves came away with all three points from their trip to Ayton Reserves.

Cayton led 3-0 at the interval through goals from Jamie Whitelaw, Marcus Mockridge and an own goal, before Ayton netted through James Ledden and Tyson Stubbings to make it 3-2.

But their hope was extinguished by another Cayton strike by Mike Brown.

ATHLETICO2B 3 (Day, Swift, May) COMMERCIAL (Jowett)

Athletico2B hit back from a goal behind to win against a young Commercial side.

Jackson Jowett’s thumping strike gave Commercial the lead but Tommy Day’s leveller made it 1-1 at the break.

Second half goals from Dan Swift and Kyle May handed Athletico the win.

May and Leon Dunn stood out for Nick David’s men.

Falsgrave Reserves made it two wins from two after beating Westover Reserves 7-1 away from home.
