Ian Laing was in superb form as he fired in a double hat-trick in his side’s 7-2 win over Newlands Reserves, while FC Rosette made cup progress with debutant Prince Amponsah in superb form.

Flixton striker Ian Laing was in superb form for his side as he bagged a sensational six goals in their 7-2 win over Newlands Reserves.
The sides were level at 2-2 at half-time after a scrappy 45 minutes.
But Laing took control of the affair after the break as Flixton improved and managed to complete a double hat-trick.
Keith Skelton grabbed Flixton’s other goal, while Danny Hague impressed in the middle of the park.
Snainton 2 (Drydale 2) Filey Town Reserves 2 (J Powell 2)
Snainton and Filey Town Reserves had to share the spoils after a pulsating 2-2 draw.
Prolific striker Lee Drydale put Snainton 1-0 up but Jordan Powell’s thunderbolt after the interval tied things up at 1-1.
Powell was at it again shortly afterwards as he put Filey in front for the first time in the contest.
Snainton threw men forward in a bid to get back on level terms, but it looked like Town were going to hold out and take the win until Drydale’s first-time strike after a ball over the top with just three minutes left on the clock.
Snainton boss Danny I’Anson picked out keeper Jamie Sanderson and striker James Wilson as his star men, while Town manager Jay Taylor was impressed with scorer Powell and left-sided player Scott Sheldon.
Rillington Athletic 4 Edgehill Reserves 3 (Scales, Cairns, Watson)
Edgehill Reserves suffered a surprise 4-3 reverse on the road at Rillington Athletic.
Rillington led 3-1 at the interval but goals from Tom Scales, Jon Cairns and JP Watson pegged things back to 3-3.
Athletic managed to get their noses back in front after 70 minutes though and Edgehill couldn’t find a way back into the game.
Reserves joint-manager Martyn Ferrey picked out Scales as their stand out man on the day for his effort off the ball.

FC Rosette 3 (Amponsah 2, Crowe) Falsgrave Reserves 1
Al Wray’s FC Rosette made it safely through to the second round of the League Cup after a 3-1 win against division three side Falsgrave Reserves.
The home side’s new signing Prince Amponsah was their star man as he made a superb impact on debut with a brace, while Robbie Crowe also found the net.
Rosette official Billy Cammish said: “Prince took his goals well and looks like a good signing.
“Credit has to go to Falsgrave though, they kept working hard and never gave up at any point in the game.”
