Boro are in the semi-finals of the Senior Cup, with a trip to Marske United yet to be played and with the BetVictor Nothern Premier League season brought to a premature halt, many thought the campaign was done.

But the news regarding the possibility of completing the Senior Cup has delighted the Boro boss.

He said: “It’s fantastic that we could still get the chance to complete the Senior Cup and potentially get through to a final a try to win some silverware.

“I’m not sure how they’ll work it in terms of eligible players, but all that can be sorted and it would be great for the fans to hopefully see us play in a big cup final and potentially win some silverware.”

Kelly is mindful that they’d still need to come through a tricky looking trip to Marske United in the semi-finals before any thoughts turn to a cup final and lifting any silverware.

“It’ll be a tough place to go and get the win, but as always I’m incredibly confident in the players,” added Kelly.

The Boro boss was also full of praise for both the fans and the players in the last week, with fans raising over £7,000 for the club and the players agreeing a deal with the club regards future payments.

Kelly added: “Times like these show people’s true colours and the efforts of the fans has been truly inspirational.

“The players have been exceptional too, I have spoken to them all and we’ve had no issues whatsoever.”
