Former Tadcaster man Chimalilo trained with Boro during pre-season before being offered the chance to train with professional clubs.

Nothing materialised from those clubs, and Boro boss Darren Kelly has moved to snap the forward up.

Kelly is delighted to have signed Chimalilo, who can operate out wide or through the middle.

He said: "It's great to get Donald in.

"He trained with us pre-season before he had opportunities to go and train with some professional clubs and also had a bit of a hamstring knock.

"He'll come in and improve us going forward. He's got good pace and also has an incredible work ethic too.

"He will be keen to come here and impress to get a move to a higher level and I suppose it's up to us to put him in the shop window too.

"Hopefully Donald comes in and has an impact."
