SInnington stunned Scarborough League top-flight side Seamer in the first round of the Scarborough FA District Cup, claiming a 2-1 home win.
Rob Preston earned the man of the match award for leading the line superbly, with centre-back Rob Atkinson scoring the other goal for the Sinners.
In the same competition, former Beckett League team Ryedale Sports Club lost 2-1 at Edgehill, James Reed scoring the only goal for the visitors.
Ryedale’s second team had better fortune in their home division two game against Snainton Reserves, winning 4-1.
Once again it was their red-hot strike partnership of Matty Gardner and Marc Dobson who sparked the win, the duo smashing in two goals each. Right-back Toby Tyler was the star man for Ryedale.
Under new manager Shaun Hornby, Ryedale have now won six out of six league games and could well run away with the league if they continue in this vein of form.
Easingwold Town 3rds suffered a surprise 2-1 home loss against Rillington Reserves, while Aislaby United lost 2-0 at home to Thornton Dale Reserves.
