STEVE KITTRICK: Fans can cheer us to cup glory

Our last two results in the league have been absolutely massive.

Maybe in the past we would have cracked in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Brighouse or the 5-2 win at Ossett Albion on Tuesday, but we dug in during both games and came away with the right results.

We now need to transfer this form from our league matches into Saturday’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie against Sunderland RCA.

It would be silly for us to get complacent ahead of this game and I’m going to make sure that this doesn’t happen.

We will go into the game treating them with the ultimate respect that they deserve.

Everyone knows how tough that teams from the Northern League can be, Marske showed that in a previous round when they pushed us very close.

There is no point looking at our win on Tuesday or Sunderland RCA’s defeat on the same night because Saturday’s game is the FA Cup, anything can happen in this competition.

We go into it with some wounded bodies because it has been a gruelling period, so we’ll have to see who is fit and available.

I’d like to think that we have something of an advantage on our of Flamingo Land Stadium pitch, given to us by the amazing support we have from the people of Scarborough.

I’d like to thank the fans for this, the noise that they make in supporting us and also the fact that they are our 12th man in every game.

It would be great if the supporters could turn out in force on Saturday for our cup game because it will mean a lot to the lads and of course myself.

Hopefully they can play their part in another great result for the club.
