Scarborough Athletic bosses Bryan Hughes and Paul Foot are on a striking recruitment drive ahead of this weekend’s home game with Warrington Town.
Since Alex Peterson’s loan deal from Doncaster Rovers came to an end, Boro have tried a few different attacking options.
The most recent has seen midfielder Jimmy Beadle lining up alongside Gary Bradshaw and Ryan Blott.
Beadle may have scored two in two since this switch, but Hughes feels that he is far more valuable arriving from deep.
“We knew that Alex would have to go back at some point, though we wanted to extend the loan deal,” said Hughes.
“Since then we have had to explore other options.
“We have been in touch with a few strikers and clubs and we are hoping to have somebody in imminently.
“Jimmy has helped us out in attack and he has done well, scoring two goes in two games.
“The problem is that we like him in midfield because he scores a lot of goals from deep.
“It has been hard for Jimmy because it isn’t his game. We need somebody to come in who has experience of that role and knows it well.”
