STRONGWOOD Reserves battled back from a goal down to claim a 5-1 win at home to Filey Flyers in their Senior Cup quarter-final.
Will Hunter handed the Flyers an early lead and the score remained 1-0 visitors at the interval.
After the interval Strongwood stepped up a gear, after a couple of tactical switches from boss Steve Mainprize, mainly Eric Hall moving up front from his midfield starting role.
Hall repaid his manager’s faith with two goals, while Chris Sowray also weighed in with a brace, Bobby Penny completing the scoring for Strongwood.
Dave Pallister, moved up to left midfield from his usual left-back role, was picked out as man of the match by Mainprize, who also praised Damien Devine.
Trafalgar cruised into the semi-finals with a 9-1 home win against FC Filey.
Jamie Patterson, Jon Ellwood and Drew McCoubrey all smacked in two goals apiece for the hosts, with Luke Jenkinson, Jamie Bradshaw and Liam Salt also on the scoresheet.
