Promotion-chasing FILO fell 2-0 behind to goals from Josh Hopley and Si Forde, before hitting back through Phil Raisbeck.

Ben Thompson put hosts Dales back in charge at 3-1, but a Karl Storr strike gave FILO hope heading into the break.

The away side improved after the break and two more goals from Storr completed his hat-trick and handed them a 4-3 lead.

Storr then spurned a glorious chance to kill the game off when his penalty was saved by Dales stopper and man of the match Dave Smith.

FILO weren't to be denied though and Lee Brennan nipped in to make it 5-3 and claim all three points for Les Brown's men, despite a late Ben Thompson consolation.

Brown said: "Conditions were awful and credit has to go to Fylingdales, they battled hard from start to finish.

"I'm pleased the lads dug deep for three points and an awful pitch."

Hat-trick hero Storr was FILO's man of the match.

The other scheduled game between Barrowcliff Reserves and Cayton was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
