When members of the Scarborough News and Bridlington Free Press sports desks sampled footgolf we were taking an intriguing step into the unknown.
Andy Bloomfield, Daniel Gregory, John Edwards and myself were joined by Scarborough Athletic joint-boss Bryan Hughes and Mike O’Connor, both of whom are big names in Footgolf UK.
On a crisp December morning, we soon got into the groove of what is one of the most addictive games I have ever played.
It took no time for us to make our way around the nine holes set-up on Bridlington Links’ practice range.
It only left us salivating about what a great game this must be in the summer months.
The skilled boot of Hughes obviously won the day on a one-under 36, while Daniel and myself finished three over.
Andy and John dropped off the pace after respective nightmares on the first and fourth holes.
