westway stars line up for top show

WESTWAY ABC are expecting a top night of boxing action when they host a dinner show at the Crown Spa Hotel tomorrow.

The event kicks off with a dinner at 7.30pm and is followed by a 12-bout card from 8.30pm.

The in-form George Rhodes Jnr tops the bill when he takes on Middlesbrough’s John Doherty, and he is joined at the head of the card by George Horner, who tackles Ryan Fields of Derbyshire.

Jamie Heritage will be making his return to the ring after four years, while 39-year-old cruiserweight Al Edwards is on a revenge mission against Lee Farndale.

Flamingo Land owner Gordon Gibb will be looking to build on a fine run of form last year, while there will also be appearances from Mitch Wedge, Callum Pavier, Chance Wedge, Connor Baines, Joe Blackwell, Jake Phillips and John-Joe Horner.

Westway coach George Rhodes Snr said: “We have four junior fights and eight senior bouts, it will be a great night of boxing.”
