Winger Ryan Williams has left Scarborough Athletic to team up with former boss Rudy Funk at AFC Mansfield.
The 36-year-old will step straight into a player-coaching role at the NCEL first division side.
Williams had found himself on the bench in recent weeks, but he showed no rustiness, emerging to bag the winner at Lancaster last Saturday.
Joint-boss Paul Foot said: “I would personally like thank Ryan for his efforts since he has come to this club. The door is always 100 per cent open if he wants to come back.
“We all wish him the best and I know it was a hard decision for him to leave.
“He’ll be missed in the changing room with all his experience and he’ll also be missed as a player.
“It has been hard because we have been on a great run and it is hard to change a winning team.
“Ryan has been understanding, but at the same time he has been frustrated, as any player would be.”
