Scarborough were just too strong for South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and York, beating them 8-0, 11-3 and 7-1 respectively.

Things proved a little more difficult against Linx who put up a great fight but were defeated 2-1 by Scarborough.

Curtis Vasey, Stuart Hudson and Jerry Woodhead were on fantastic form, displaying great skill in both defence and attack and with newcomer Liz Dent putting a number of goals in the back of the oppositions net, Scarborough had done enough to win the tournament before meeting Nottingham in the final game.

Nottingham did all they could to stop Scarborough and looked like they may win the game when they came back from 4-1 down to level the game at 4-4.

However Scarborough kept their nerve and finished the game 5-5 to take the gold medal.

This win secures top position on the league table for Scarborough and despite the final tournament, which takes place in Manchester on June 20, Scarborough have already secured the league title.

The Scarborough club’s intermediate team will play in Newcastle on April 18.
