Your equipment will be affected by general wear and tear which can impact on how they perform. This winter give your equipment an MOT.

1. Check the loft of the clubs

After constant pounding of the ball and ground the lofts on your irons will move. This can then affect how far the ball will travel.

2. Check the lie of the clubs.

Exactly the same way your club head lofts will move, the lie of the golf club will also change. This can affect the direction of your shots. When the lie moves this will cause either the heel or the toe of the club head to dig into the ground causing the club face to turn.

3. Check the grips

The weather and the handling of your golf clubs will cause the club handles to become shiny and less tacky. This will cause you to hold tighter so you don’t let go of the club or let it turn in your hands at impact. When you replace your grips make sure that you put all of the same style of grips back on your clubs. This will help all the clubs to feel the same helping you to feel comfortable over every shot.
