The Bridlington Tourism Association is appealing for the public to donate blue and yellow materials to create bunting for the Tour de Yorkshire.
The plan is to decorate the route of the race in Bridlington with the iconic colours of the jersey in local businesses and out on the street.
Bridlington Tourism Association president, Bob Hillery, said: “We think this idea is a great for public interaction for the event to create hundreds of metres of decoration.
“We would really appreciate any help you can offer, every little helps. Volunteers are also required to sew and knit the materials together.
“This event will put Bridlington on the map not just nationally but internationally.”
Meanwhile the association is starting a competition for the best shop window or property frontage for the event.
