BENeFit lost out 13-12 in a thrilling Scarborough Ladies Netball League Division Two clash against Copper Horse on Wednesday night.
The team, formerly know as Fitter Fam Foxes, have a new sponsor this year called BENeFit - a new personal training business set up by Ben Cole, who is studying physical education and youth sports at York St John University. He has a wide variety client base of all ages and abilities and has studio-based fitness plans/sessions.
BENeFit led the first two quarters comfortably with strong attack play between centre Jessie Pinder, goal attack Cherene Simmonds and wing attack Sophie Smith, along with excellent shooting from their player of the match Simmonds and goal shooter Stacey Mancrief.
At half-time BENeFit led 10-6 Copper Horse.
After a tactical swap by Horse's attacking players the BENeFit defence started to waver but still achieved some excellent diversions and knock outs.
With some amazing clearances from goal keeper Amy Cook held the opposition off but a tough final quarter left a small margin in scores.
The final whistle blew as Mancrief had just shot at the goal but the whistle blew a second before the successful shot went through the net, leaving them a goal short of a draw as Copper Horse won 13-12.
