Scalby A 0

Bridlington Cobras 10

Promotion-chasing Cobras were on top form to record a whitewash against shell-shocked opponents Scalby.

David Revell, Tony Ingham and Tony Wigley were all unbeaten.

The only resistance came from Andy Malley, who took Wigley to five sets.

Pot Luck Two 7 Quattro B 3

James Hodgson continued his fine season with another treble against spirited opposition.

He had to overcome both Martin Barnes and Vic Hollingsworth in five sets. He was also successful in the doubles partnering Stuart Chadwick in a tense five-set win 12-10, 4-11, 11-7, 8-11, 12-10.

Chadwick was foiled in staying unbeaten by experienced defender Hollingsworth. Pot Luck’s five-point win was secured when Jessica West won a single.

Quattro fully deserved their point with Hollingsworth impressive with a brace and the improving Martin Barnes having a shock five-set win over West.

Delphstone 5

Whitby Springhill 5

In a very tight match Delphstone’s Jon Wanless came so near to getting his side five points.

Wanless missed out on two rubbers by the minimum of margins.

He lost to Stewart Ellis 11-13 in the final set and then to Stu Hurworth 11-7, 8-11, 12-10, 13-15, 9-11.

Wanless won his other single to go with a brace each from Nigel Hird and Tony Brown, who normally play in the third division.

Whitby got a share of the points with Hurworth and Ellis winning twice and taking the doubles together.
