INJURY ruined young motocross prospect Coby Wright’s 2009 campaign, but the youngster has made a superb fight-back in recent months as he bids to make his name in the sport.

Coby suffered horrific injuries including a broken knee, broken wrist, broken ribs and a broken collar bone, but has hit back in fine style.

His dad Dave has revealed his immense pride at his son’s achievements and his ability to fight back from adversity.

He said: “Coby is a tough kid and is pretty fast too.

“He puts me through the mill every Sunday but I am really proud of him.”

Coby fired back in fantastic style in 2010, and was rewarded for a fine effort come the end of the season, picking up the awards for Yorkshire under-17s Champions 2010, East Riding under-17s Champion 2010 and the award for more points scored than anyone in any other class Champion of Champions.

A remarkable turn-around in fortunes for the 15-year-old, who will aim to carry on his superb form into 2011.

Coby said: “I would like to thank a few people for their help over the last few years.

“Thanks to Chris at Chris Sellars Tyres and also big thanks to Dave and Boots at D.W Motorcycles for keeping me going on the track after I blew my bike up a few times.

“Also a massive thank-you to my Dad and Paula for believing in me and spending a lot of money to keep me on my bike.

“Dad sold my 125cc and got me a 250cc to compete in the seniors next season. We’ll have to see how it goes.”
