SCARBOROUGH boxer Danny Price has been warming up for his next fight in style.

The 26-year-old has been sparring with top British heavyweight David Price this week in a bid to further hone his skills.

Not that Price’s ability needs much brushing up after he took out Slovakian Michal Tomko after just 41 seconds of his pro debut in Bolton last month.

Danny will now return to the ring at Peterlee Leisure Centre on Saturday December 10, when he is confident of making it two wins out of two, despite an opponent not yet being lined up by promoter Frank Maloney.

He will be on the same bill as Maloney’s Mongolian lightweight fighter Shinny Bayaar and light welterweight ace Ashley Theoplane. Others are also being lined up.

The Scarborough fighter said: “I started back in training this week and it is going really well.

“I have been doing a fair bit of sparring with David Price.

“He is probably the best heavyweight around in Britain, so I’m learning different things all of the time.

“He has a British title eliminator against John McDermott coming up this month, so it helping us both out.”

He added: “I can’t wait to get back into the ring again. I have been there, done it and really enjoyed it.

“Before the first fight it was all new, the build-up and the whole situation. Now I’ll be used to it so I know what is coming.”

Tickets are going on sale next week for Danny’s second fight since turning professional.
