SHERBURN’S Lleyton Scott continued his fine form with a recent double win.

As well as winning an East Yorkshire Cluster event, he also bagged success in a Regional Grade three tournament at ThornBridge Tennis Centre in Huddersfield.

Lleyton saw off a 24-strong field in the under-eight event, which brought together players from all over the region.

The seven-year-old played five matches in his group and won each of them to secure his place in the final play-off.

In this knock-out stage, he continued his fine form, to seal a path through to the final against Oliver Vasey.

Lleyton, who attends Brompton-by-Sawdon Primary School, went on to win by a 10-8 scoreline to take the title.

Since Christmas Lleyton has also played in two Yorkshire tournaments where he finished third and second respectively.

Lleyton has another county tournament and several Grade three tournaments coming up over Easter.

He trains with Ben Atkinson at Pindar Leisure Centre and Tom Loughton at Nuffield Tennis Academy in Hull.
