Joe Jordan steered his team to victory in the North Cliff Golf Club Professional’s competition.
The last competition of the year for the club was hosted by pro Fraser Kelley, and the four-man team stableford format of two counting scores every hole was well supported with 19 teams taking part.
With the course in excellent condition for this time of year the scoring was very impressive, resulting in a very close finish between the top three teams.
Finishing in first place with 90 points was the team of Dave Parrott (10) Dave Raybould (3) Rob Hagan (9) and Jordan (14).
The team got off to a flying start with Jordan shooting a gross birdie at the first hole, which with his shot allowance turned into an eagle two to claim four points.
The wheels nearly came off on the par four fourth hole when the team only managed to recorded a single point but on the next hole another gross birdie net eagle from Jordan supported by a net birdie from Hagan provided seven points towards a front nine total of 45 points.
Parrott and Hagan started the run for home with net birdies at the 10th hole and on the 13th hole, birdies from Parrott and Raybould added a further six points.
The round was then confidently completed with a further four birdies to give the team a total score of 90 points.
The team of Nick Fox (14) Sam Fox (12) Marc Tyson (7) and Matt Botham (21) claimed second place with 88 points by virtue of a better back nine countback than the team of John Titley (13) Colin Glaves (17) Jim Dodds (12) and Richard Wells (20).
