Two local riders have once again been selected to represent England and the Northern region at the British Dressage Home International that takes place at Addington Manor from September 28 to 30.
For Natalie Widdowson from Flixton it will be her third time representing England on her handsome nine-year-old chestnut gelding Gorgeous George and although the pair will be competing at medium level they have enjoyed success at advanced level this summer and are continuing to gain impressive scores in the dressage arena.
“We have been working really hard this summer and George has continued to improve so I am really pleased to have been selected again,” said Natalie.
It has also been a successful year for Cara Shardlow, who runs Beckside Livery Stables at Sneantonthorpe and has been selected for the second year running with her talented six-year-old, Detonator.
“For such a young horse he is showing real promise and it is a real credit to him that we have been selected to compete for the team again,” added Cara.
Both riders hope to replicate the success they achieved at last year’s competition and hope that their summer of hard work will have paid off.
