Premier victor Peace shuts out Bolt at Dale

Scarborough & District Motor Club competitors had to contend with a biting cold, sleet driven day for their Harwood Dale trial on Sunday.

But Kirkbymoorside’s Dan Peace and Wallsend’s Billy Bolt certainly warmed the atmosphere with their close battle for the Premier, Peace winning by two marks due to his brilliant ride on the rocks of seven, losing just one mark to Bolt’s three.

All observers deserved a medal for sticking to their posts and Scarborough duo Andy Lockwood and Mark Taylor produced another close finish for Intermediate honours, Taylor putting a storming ride together on the third and last section, the only rider to remain clean.

Lockwood lost 13 on each and a maximum on eight, but his consistency through the middle sections saw him hold on to win by four marks.

Scarborough’s Callum Williamson and Elliot Woodallwon their respective Youth B and C classes.

Zac Collinson, also from Scarborough, contested the Intermediate course and was not outclassed.

Sponsored by the affable Richard ‘Dicky’ Bird from Scarborough, well-known for his off road competition business of Feetup, Collinson is gaining in confidence and ability every time he is out and his loss of five marks on the concrete slabs of three was only bettered by winner Lockwood.
