WESTWAY’S Danny Price has been keeping himself busy in preparation for a big year in the ring.
Heavyweight Price had been sparring with World and European champion Artur Beterbiev during an altitude training camp stay in Russia.
These sessions have provided the 25-year-old with a boost going into this month’s Boxaii Tournament in Hungary.
Price is using this event, which gets underway on February 8, as part of a build-up to the qualifiers for next year’s Olympic Games in London.
He said: “It was some excellent sparring practice, he is a quality fighter, so that is exactly the sort of practice you need.
“I spent nine days in Russia with no phone or internet connection, so we just focused on boxing.
“It was great preparation for the Boxaii Tournament because that won’t be easy.
“I’ll be fighting against opponents from Russia and Cuba, I can’t wait for it to get going.”
