SCARBOROUGH’S Danny Price will now have to wait an extra month before pushing on with his professional boxing adventure.
Price, 26, was scheduled to be fighting on a huge show at Aintree Racecourse on Merseyside in May, but he has now been removed from the bill.
This card included a British heavyweight title bout between David Price and Sam Sexton, as well as a welterweight British title clash between Ashley Theophane and Steve Williams
Instead Price will make his fifth professional outing in June, though a venue and a date is yet to be confirmed.
Cruiserweight Price, who has won four out of four since stepping up from the amateur ranks, isn’t too pleased by the switch, but he has vowed to keep battling away.
Price said: “I’m not happy, but that is the way it goes in professional boxing.
“It is a massive show with a few title fights on it, my manager Frank Maloney said it was too top-heavy.
“I just wanted to get back into the ring because I need to keep getting the fights and the experience under my belt.
“I’ll have to wait another month now, but I’ll be raring to go when that one comes around.”
