Scarborough’s professional cruiserweight Danny Price will be on the hunt for a new promoter after Frank Maloney announced his retirement last night.
Maloney oversaw the rollercoaster career of former Scarborough featherweight Paul Ingle, who enjoyed great success winning the IBF world title before his career was tragically cut short after suffering almost fatal injuries against Mbulelo Botile in 2000.
More recently Maloney signed former amateur star Price in 2011 and had seen him make his way steadily to nine straight victories, three coming inside the distance.
Maloney paid tribute to Ingle, among others, on Twitter last night.
His tweet read: “A special thanks to Paul Ingle and Rendall Munroe, Scott Harrison and Jason Booth all very special fighters who brought me great memories.”
