Ten schools fielded a record 226 runners in Terrington Hall School’s annual under-11 and under-13 boys and girls cross country meet held last week.
The three-mile course took the runners from the picturesque village of Terrington into the Howardian Hills via forest track, embankment and ploughed fields to the finishing line on the school’s rugby pitches.
Under-11 Girls: 1 S Sweeting (Lyndhurst), 2 H Cowen (Bramcote), 3 N Watkins (Cundall Manor).
Under-11 Girls team winners: 1 Lyndhurst, 2 Sedbergh, 3 St Martin’s Ampleforth.
Under-11 Boys: 1 J Doyle (Cundall Manor), 2 C Park Johnson (Sedbergh), 3 T Mewes (Cundall Manor).
Under-11 Boys team winners: 1 Cundall Manor, 2 St Martin’s Ampleforth, 3 Terrington Hall.
Under-13 Girls: 1 F Scutt (Pocklington School), 2 N Houlston (The Minster), 3. H Duree (St Martin’s Ampleforth).
Under-13 Girls team winners: 1 St Martin’s Ampleforth, 2 Pocklington, 3 Terrington Hall.
Under-13 Boys: 1 O Wilson (Cundall Manor), 2 J Hodge (Sedbergh), 3 T Pycock (Terrington Hall).
Under-13 Boys team winners: 1 Sedbergh, 2 Cundall, 3 St Martin’s Ampleforth.
