Gladstone Road Junior School’s pupils have been testing their all-round skills in indoor athletics competitions at Scarborough RUFC.
Years Three to Six all took part in the annual athletic events, starting with the oldest pupils on Monday finishing with the youngest on the Thursday, with the Year Four athletes featured in the pictures on this page.
The pupils were arranged into class teams to compete in eight activities in the first half of the morning session; standing long jump, standing triple jump, speed bounce, balancing bar, vertical jump, shuttle relay, target throwing and distance throwing.
Points were awarded for the athletes finishing in first second and third.
The second half of the morning was devoted to running events such as sprint relays.
Gladstone Road School head teacher Brian Robinson said: “I am very pleased with how all the events went.
“This also helps us prepare for the inter-school indoor athletics events in the new year.”
