Scarborough Hockey Club men’s 2nds team marked their return after a nine-year absence with a fine 3-1 win at Bradford 4ths.

After a fine pre-season Scarborough were fired up for the Division Six North clash and Aaron Dyson opened the scoring after reacting quickest to an incoming shot and deflecting it past the keeper.

The visitors began the second half as they ended the first, and midway through the period Dyson doubled their advantage with an impressive strike which gave the Bradford keeper no chance.

The hosts pushed forward, especially on the wings, looking to get back in the game but this left space and this allowed winger Joe Cook, who was also man of the match, to slot home the third to seal the win.

Bradford claimed a late consolation goal.

Anyone who is interested in joining the club can go to training every Thursday, 7.10-8.30pm at Scarborough College Astroturf.
