Thornton-le-Dale’s athletics star Bronwen Owen continued her amazing run of form at the weekend.
Just a week after representing Great Britain at the European Triathlon Championships in Zurich, the 18-year-old carried on her progression in Sweden.
Having been the first Great Britain junior in the sprint distance event in Zurich, Bronwen shone in the European Junior Track and Field Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
In the 5,000 metre final she ran with the leading group in the early stages of the race and went onto finish sixth of the 19 athletes.
This was enough to confirm her position as first GB finisher.
This meant that she finished ahead of Grace Baker, who is the number one ranked under-20 athlete for the distance, and who finished just ahead of Bronwen in the trial race at Sportscity in Manchester.
