PICKERING Town boss Alex Mathie was delighted with his side after they fought back from a goal down to reach the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.
Pikes won 2-1 at Wimborne Town despite suffering a double blow when they lost striker Lee Nogan with a thigh injury on 20 minutes and went 1-0 down after Sam Percival struck for the Dorset side seven minutes later.
Pikes equalised in the 47th minute when James Drinkall produced a stunning overhead kick.
Liam Salt, who came on for Nogan, was the hero when he netted after 71 minutes.
Mathie said: "It was a real battle. We had to change things round at half-time after losing Nogan but the lads responded well.
"Liam came on and was hungry and he took his opportunity to win us the game.
"We are through to the last eight and although we are not talking about winning the competition we are on a good run."
