Former welterweight world champion Ricky Hatton was due to appear at The Spa on Friday night, but the even has been cancelled.

The world title winning boxer was set to appear at the South Bay venue on Friday March 10 but the show has been cancelled by the organisers.

All ticket holders will receive full refunds from The Spa Box Office in the next couple of days.

Jo Ager, Scarborough Spa’s General Manager stated: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the original postponement and cancellation.

"Unfortunately this is a promoter decision which is out of our control.

"Scarborough Spa would like to make it clear that An Evening with Geoffrey Boycott on Saturday May 6 is unaffected and is not affiliated with the promoter in question and will be going ahead as scheduled."
