Scarborough Pirates player-coach Adam Lee was delighted with his side’s 22-16 success and also the manner of their Yorkshire Mens League premier division victory at Eastway against Kippax Knights.
Lee said: “It was a good win and a tough game. We were holding on for dear life at the end of the game.
“Discipline was the key in the end, because they were trying to wind us up and get a reaction.
“I was happy that the lads just concentrated on the game.
“Our kicking game was also excellent, with Tom Ratcliffe making a return to to team.
“It was a windy day as well, so that pretty much ruled out any attractive rugby.”
