“Obviously the rules are different to what we’re used to but it’s been a long time coming and all the girls are buzzing to be back.

“We only had a couple of weeks for pre-season, most of our fitness and strength work was done at home.

“The fitness kept me busy during lockdown and I was able to keep myself as motivated as possible.

Aldcroft added she was delighted to score two tries and hopes to take some good form into the internationals that are starting in four weeks.

“It’s always nice to score two tries, but they were team efforts,” she added.

“I’m looking forward to the international fixtures in the coming weeks and hopefully I will be able to perform well.

“I’m hoping to keep fit throughout the season and take another big step in my own development.”

Aldcroft is also hoping to see the action at Silver Royd return soon.
