Scarborough RUFC coach Jason Lowde has submitted his new recruit wish list ahead of the new Yorkshire One season.
Lowde is looking to add three new players to a squad, which he wants to be pushing for honours this time around.
The coach is generally happy with the current line-up, though he is keen to add the icing to the Scarborough cake.
He said: “We start training in two weeks time, which is a little earlier than before. This is because we have had a change in personnel and we want to get things going.
“We are making a number of enquiries about players, I am leaving a lot of it to our new recruitment and retention officer Nick Ingham.
“I have given Nick my wish list and we will go from there.
“Obviously we want to start with local players and younger lads, then we will be searching further afield for overseas players.
“Ideally I think we need three players, the main one being a prop as back-up because I will be focusing a lot more on coaching this season.
“We do have a good squad, so it will be a case of just adding a bit more to what we have. I don’t want any superstars coming in and dominating the team.”
Aussie Rob James has already shown an interest in returning to the squad, which is another pre-season boost for Lowde.
He added: “I have spoken to Rob and he is keen to return from Australia, which is great news because he is a very useful player.
“We also have Jake Rollinson until October now, so that is another positive.”
