Development on the horizon at Silver Royd
The ambitious plans, outlined in an open letter to members, sponsors and supporters by chief executive Graeme Young recently, include a new £500,000 4G artificial pitch, a cricket pavilion and a new digital scoreboard.
The club requested feedback from members after outlining their ideas to further develop their £4million Scalby Road HQ.

“There’s been a lot of interest in the artificial pitch proposal.
“We need to look at these plans as a club and see which ideas would give us a good return on investment, while also helping us achieve our main goal, which is to improve provision for rugby union in the town.”
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PLAN?
* New digital scoreboard
* 4G pitch
* Toilets in the main stand
* Purpose-built cricket pavilion
* Wet areas for the gym
* Viewing area for minis
* Food/drink kiosk
* Redesign of clubhouse
Young admits some of the proposed developments will happen sooner than others and is hopeful a new digital scoreboard could be in place as soon as the start of the 2016/17 season, while the 4G pitch could come to fruition within 24-26 months.

“I’m discussing the idea of a new digital scoreboard at the moment and hope to have that in place soon.”
