A much re-shuffled side, ravaged by injury and unavailability, outplayed their hosts in a game played in a blizzard in Halifax.

Playing up the Hipperholme slope into driving sleet and rain, the Seasiders made an early impact when flanker Drew Govier drove over after only eight minutes following good work by Billy Parker and Ben Martin. Skipper Tom Ratcliffe added the extras for a 7-0 lead.

Old Brods pulled a score back when left winger Manu went over just before half-time meaning that the away side led by just two points at the interval.

The weather worsened after the break and whiteout conditions made it almost impossible for players and spectators alike.

With the wind and snow behind them playing down the slope, a couple of penalties from Ratcliffe saw the lead stretched to 13-5 on the hour.
