Tom Harrison has hailed the Scarborough RUFC dressing room as ‘one of the best he has ever experienced’ following their 13-0 victory over Bridlington on Saturday.

Saturday’s win was the first time Scarborough have beaten their rivals Brid at Silver Royd since it opened in January 2009 and it was also the first time in four meetings that they have come away victorious.

Harrison came on after 20 minutes. replacing fly-half Phil Stewart after youngster Sam Warren had been sinbinned.

Harrison said: “We could mix the team up a bit and afford to make some changes with the new rolling subs rule.

“It’s great that some of the younger players are able to play in big games against Brid, it shows what the club are all about.”

The Scarborough defence peformed exceptionally well with skipper Phil Watson receiving the man of the match award after a spirited display.

Harrison added: “We found the spirit and it was a phenomenal defensive display from the lads.”

“This victory will give the players a boost and confidence as we go into our next few games.”
