Former Scarborough RUFC skipper Nick Ingham is relishing his new role of recruitment and retention officer.
Ingham is already working hard behind the scenes to boost coach Jason Lowde’s team ahead of the new campaign.
He stepped down as captain at the end of last season with Phil Watson taking on the job.
Ingham said: “I was already involved in the recruitment and retention side of things when I was captain, so this is just formalising the role a little more. I am enjoying it a lot.
“Jason has given me his wish list and we are working our way through that. I have been talking to a number of players and agents for a while now.
“We won’t be naming names as yet because we have been stung with that in the past. Until a player lands on the tarmac and gets into the car they don’t actually become a Scarborough player,
“We had a player last season who was poised to sign and then a couple of days before his flight there was a visa issue.”
