LEE DOUGLAS: Semi set up perfectly

The guys put in a much improved performance against Selby on Saturday.

Against a very strong and impressive outfit, we put in a good team effort and I couldn’t have asked for a lot more from them.

The team worked really hard and put in a good shift against a team that had some talent in their ranks.

When they get hold of the ball they’ve got some talent in their backline and when they get hold of the ball they’ve got some dangerous runners, so you can see why they’ve scored a lot of points in the last few weeks.

It’s all set up nicely for when we go there next weekend for the Yorkshire Shield semi-final.

We had one or two key players missing for this game, but from what I hear they were without a couple too, so we can’t read into that too much.

We’ve got a long trip to North Ribblesdale this weekend and we’ll go there full of confidence.

While it’s a long trip, they’ve had some poor results of late.

On the back of Saturday we should be going in confident mood.

I want to try something a bit new in the backs this week.

We’ll be taking a look at Phil Watson at No8 and Matty Else at No6.

We’ve got nothing to lose and I want to go down to Selby with our best formation and I want to be a little more dynamic from No8 than we have been.

We’ve still got a few lads missing and one or two that we’ll have to have a look at going into Saturday.

Greame Jeffrey and Tom Harrison spring to mind, we won’t rush anyone back.

It was great to have Craig Farrell back in the ranks on Saturday.

He’s a quality player and it’s great to have him back.

He’s doing things we haven’t done this season and has been communicating really well at inside centre.

Hopefully he can continue his form and stay injury free now as that would be a big boost for the lads.
