Local youngster Joe Marshall is going from strength to strength as he made his second appearance for Yorkshire under-18s against Durham.
The Yorkshire youngsters unfortunately suffered a 22-10 defeat against Durham.
Marshall’s second appearance came after his debut which came against Lancashire, in which Yorkshire ran out 26-19 winners, and he is keen to keep on improving and impressing with Yorkshire and Scarborough.
He compared the playing standard of local rugby to his Yorkshire side and said:“We’ve got a really strong squad with good players all around the pitch.
“The main difference is the speed and fitness of everyone. Nobody is slow and everyone can keep up with the play for the full 80 minutes.
“It’s good to play in a team where everyone’s skill level and fitness are similar, it makes the rugby enjoyable.”
Marshall is now wanting to keep moving up the rugby ladder and suggested that university may be the next step. He also added that he wants to take his rugby ‘as far as it can go’.
When speaking about his two games for Yorkshire, Joe added: “We beat Lancashire 26-19 but lost to Durham 22-10.
“As a team we were disappointed to lose, but I was pleased with my own performance as well as the teams’.”
