THE Annual Old Boys rugby union match between a team made up of former Scarborough Sixth Form players and the current batch from the college will take place for the first time in three years tomorrow evening.
The match, that was set-up to pay tribute to and remember the late Chris Acklam, who passed away due to testicular cancer, has been abandoned the past two years due to inclement weather, but this year’s game looks likely to get the green light at Silver Royd (6pm kick-off).
Organisers Jaxon Tite and Christian Dente have put together a good Old Boys side that includes Scarborough first teamers Chris Lee, Chris Purdy, Jake Rollinson and Paul White.
And they will face a handy Sixth Form side that will include Tyler Hodgson, Matthew Young and Sam Warren.
Dente said: “We’re trying to look at ways of making the Old Boys match a charitable event. It’s free to get in at the moment but if anyone would like to donate some money or sponsor the match they can ring me on 07729873995.”
