All the lads were very disappointed when Jason Lowde told us he wasn’t going to be continuing as our head coach next season.
Jason has done an excellent job on and off the field as the club’s head coach this season.
The players are enjoying their rugby more now with the fresh, dynamic and expansive style of play he has tried to introduce and they’re pleased we can throw the ball around with a lot more freedom now.
I think Jason would have loved to have carried on into next season to try and take us to the next level, but sometimes work and family commitments come first.
We have come on a lot this season and all the guys have improved too and it would have been nice if Jason could have carried us into next season and we could have finished the job he started.
I hope the supporters have enjoyed the way we have tried to play more entertaining rugby this season.
While it is disappointing that Jason will be leaving us, we need to move on and maybe a new coach coming in from outside the club with fresh eyes will be a kick up the backside for the lads and will shake up selection a bit.
My season is over after Saturday’s disappointing defeat to York. I am out of the country this weekend so miss the Driffield tie.
Good luck to the lads out there. It’s going to be a very, very tough game for them as Driffield can wrap up the Yorkshire One title with victory.
They will also want to get revenge for their defeat at Silver Royd on the first day of the season.
There will be a big crowd there and they will want to put on a show for them and play some attacking rugby and it is up to our lads to try and spoil the party.
I know Jason will want to go out with a bang and win the game as well and I hope the guys can do just that.
It has been an honour captaining Scarborough this season, and I’d like to thank everyone for their help and support.
