Scarborough RUFC’s minis kicked off their season on Sunday with a string of gritty performances in Driffield.

The Silver Royd club hosts a number of young teams running from under-seven through to the under-12s, which is the gateway to junior rugby.

Club YDO Tom Harrison is still keen for more young players to come down and give the game a go.

He will throw in a free first session and also a free rugby ball to practice with.

Harrison said: “We have a lot of players in certain age-groups, but a few of the teams are struggling for numbers.

“We want to get a good blend running right through to the under-12s, which is the foundation for 15-a-side rugby.

“The minis are vital for the club because they are the future of our senior teams.”

Any keen youngsters should turn up at the Silver Royd club on Sunday at 10.30am.
