Having not played rugby since the season was brought to a halt in March, Govier is excited to get back in action.

He said: “It’s been really tough for everyone but Matty (Jones) put plans in place and a big group chat to keep everyone included.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the lads again and it’ll give us a chance to get back into a rugby environment and get ready for the restart.

“We’ve been waiting for the date for a while and thankfully things are starting to come together and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

“All the squad have kept to a good level of fitness and I’m sure that we will be ready to hit the ground running.

He also told The Scarborough News that fans will play a massive part in the club’s revival on and off the pitch.

“Every single fan of the club will play a huge role and will be like a 16th man for us when we return.

“Just hearing the cheers can give us that extra boost and help us pick up wins.”
