Scarborough RUFC slip to 15-9 loss at Morley

Scarborough RUFC slipped to a 15-9 defeat on the road at Morley in North One East on Saturday.

The visitors made the ideal start with a Tom Ratcliffe penalty putting them 3-0 ahead after only two minutes.

Morley soon recovered though, as three minutes later the ball was spread wide after increased pressure and Larne Patrick crashed over., the conversion was missed to make it 5-3.

On 26 minutes the visitors were reduced to 14 men when Luke Brown was sent to the sin-bin.

Morley soon made the extra man pay as they spread the ball wide for West to score a try, the conversion was missed to make it 10-3.

The hosts then pulled further clear as Alex Fishwick managed to drive the ball over thanks to their maul, once again the conversion was missed.

Scarborough ended the half in the same manner as they started it, Ratcliffe kicking a penalty to make it 15-6.

Eight minutes into the second period a third successful Ratcliffe penalty reduced Morley's lead to six points.

Both sides pushed hard for the rest of the game but there were no further points and Morley secured the win.
