Scarborough RUFC's poor run continues with 26-14 defeat at Percy Park
Scarborough RUFC's poor run continued with a 26-14 defeat on the road at Percy Park in North One East.
Simon Smith's men fell behind after 20 minutes, Ali Blair crossing the Scarborough line.
It was soon 14-0 to Park, the hosts touching down to extend their lead after 28 minutes and that is how the scores remained until the interval.
The second half started in disastrous fashion for Scarborough when Jordan Wakeham forced an error straight from kick-off and Tom Ratcliffe kicked over the top, however Park intercepted and Blair ran the length of the field the score for 21-0.
Five minutes later Scarborough got on the scoreboard, Angus Frend touching down and Ratcliffe converting for 21-7.
Any hopes of a comeback for the men from Silver Royd were ended five minutes later, Micheal Grove the scorer for 26-7.
The gap was trimmed with four minutes left on the clock after Tom Harrison found a gap in the defence and touched down under the posts.
Ratcliffe converted for 26-14, and that is how the contest finished with hosts Park taking the spoils.
Scarborough will be hoping to end their poor run of results when they hosts struggling Huddersfield YMCA at Silver Royd next Saturday, 2.15 kick-off.
