Scarborough makes the short journey along the A64 tomorrow for their final local derby of the season against high-flying Malton & Norton.
The men from The Gannock are in the second place in Yorkshire One behind already promoted Bradford & Bingley and will look to continue the form which has taken them to the play-off for promotion to North One East.
Although they have been successful in only one derby game at York earlier in the season, the Seasiders come off a stunning nine-try defeat of visitors North Ribblesdale winning 56-3 at Silver Royd last week.
A much improved performance from the pack which was bolstered by the return of prop Paul Taylor and a man-of-the-match performance from James Leach, was the basis of that success. Both players and influential No8 Isaac Faamau who has recovered from a groin injury are in the squad for tomorrow’s game.
Malton have lost only two games this season, 11-10 at home to York in September and 22-10 to Bradford & Bingley in December.
They had too much for Scarborough winning 28-5 at Silver Royd, also in December.
A big crowd is expected at the Gannock and if both teams play to their potential it should be a full-blooded local derby with plenty of running rugby to enjoy.
