Scarborough slump to heavy home loss against Bradford & Bingley

Scarborough RUFC slumped to a 47-21 home loss against Bradford & Bingley to end 2019 on a low note.

The visitors scored a third-minute breakaway try through Kati Tu’ipulotu, after stealing the line-out.

This lead was double just three minutes later as more missed Scarborough tackles allowed Lance Taylor to scramble over and the conversion made it 14-0.

in the 11th minute Scarborough got back in the game when Tom Harrison crashed over and the conversion pulled it back to 14-7.

But the visitors were soon back in control at 21-7 thanks to a Jamie Martin try after more missed home tackles.

On 25 minutes a second Martin try pushed the Bradford & Bingley lead to 28-7.

The West Yorkshire side continued to dominate after the break as Mu Li Taufa crosses, kick converted to make it 35-7 on 44 minutes.

The onslaught continued four minutes later as the ball was spread wide and Adam Sutcliffe scored, the kick missed to leave it at 40-7.

Scarborough hit back a few minutes later when Billy Parker crashed over, and the kick went over to bring the score back to 40-14.

Fourteen minutes from time Stuart Smyth powered over for a try, again converted as Bradford & Bingley's lead was trimmed to 40-21.

The visitors scored another try in the closing moments, the conversion making it 47-21 to Bradford & Bingley.
